Potosí
THE CITY
Potosi, known for centuries as the richest and highest city in the world lays in the Bolivian Altiplano at 4067 m.o.s.l.
The architecture and colonial style preserved in the city gave Potosi the tittle of National and World Heritage.
The mining activity in the city gave origin to the village that during the colonial period had two sections: the Spanish and the indigenous.
The city still preserves some of the most interesting buildings, each one with a role during each period of the boloivian history.
One of the most amazing buildings made during the colonial towns is the National Mint, where it is possible to see and learn about life in Potosí in different times of history.
